Last updated 2026-09-01. What we collect, what we do not, and how to ask us to delete it.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell data, and there is no newsletter. The only personal information we ever hold is what you type into the contact form, and analytics data about how the site is used.

What we collect

The contact form

If you write to us, we receive your name, email address and message. That reaches us as an email and is retained in that mailbox for as long as it is useful for answering you or for tracking a correction. It is not added to any list and it is never passed to anybody else.

The form also records the time the page loaded and checks a hidden field that only automated submissions fill in. Both exist to reject spam, and neither identifies you.

We record the IP address of form submissions temporarily, in memory only, to limit how many messages a single source can send in an hour. That record is not stored anywhere persistent and disappears when the server process restarts.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which are not. It collects information about pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type and browser, referring site, and clicks on our buy buttons.

We use that to decide what to write next. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors and we have no way to connect analytics data to a contact form submission.

Google Analytics sets cookies. You can opt out with Google’s official opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. The site works normally either way.

Affiliate links

When you click a buy button you are taken to Amazon through a redirect on this domain. Amazon then sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

We are told whether a purchase happened and roughly what category it was in. We are never told who you are, what you bought specifically, or what you paid. How the affiliate arrangement works.

What we do not collect

  • No accounts, usernames or passwords - there is nothing to log in to.
  • No newsletter or mailing list.
  • No payment information. Every transaction happens on Amazon.
  • No advertising or retargeting pixels. There are no display ads on this site.
  • No social media tracking scripts.

Who processes data on our behalf

  • Vercel - hosting. Standard server request logs.
  • Google Analytics - usage analytics, as above.
  • Microsoft - contact form email is sent and received through Microsoft services.
  • Amazon - affiliate tracking after you leave this site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies are those set by Google Analytics, and any set by Amazon after you follow an outbound link.

Your rights

Depending where you live you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing.

In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold is a contact form message. Email info@glassandgravel.com and we will delete it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If a child has sent us a contact form message, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify.
